Boat hire is approximately 200 metres along the canal electric boat hire is 4 miles away and all boats can be moored outside the property. Staverton Marina is within walking distance either by road or tow path. There are several restaurants and pubs a short drive away. Enjoy a walk or bike ride along the canal path to Bradford-on-Avon with its Tythe Barn character buildings tea rooms restaurants and shops. Nearby you will find the Avoncliff Aqueduct Semington village and the Roman city of Bath 10 miles away is steeped in history with bath spas shops pubs restaurants theatre and other leisure activities. Explore other charming Cotswolds towns and villages such as Laycock with its abbey and gardens and the market towns of Devizes with the famous Caen Hill flight of locks and Chippenham. The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: on the ground floor accommodation 1 twin with TV and internal window. Upstairs 1 double with TV and a separate dressing room approached via steep open-tread stairs that are enclosed with stairgates. The stairs are not recommended for children or babies but a cot can be put in the hallway outside the ground floor bedroom. Bathroom: with corner bath shower attachment with screen to bath and WC. Lounge/diner: with canal views 42 TV Freeview video DVD and French doors. Kitchen: with gas hob electric oven microwave fridge/freezer dishwasher washing machine and a casual seating area with TV. Outside: French doors lead onto a small patio with seating ideal for trying a spot of fishing. There is an enclosed garden for children but it is recommended that they are supervised. Amenities: parking for 2 cars. Bed linen electric and central heating included. Regret no smoking or pets. Additional info: please be aware the outside patio area is for adults as it is right on the water s edge with no fencing. There is a games console with a selection of games on the gallery landing. Location: local shop and Post Office for provisions and newspapers plus petrol station within 100 yards. Local pubs/restaurants within walking distance (5-10 minutes) 2 miles to the county town of Trowbridge.

Much of the county is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it’s ideal for walkers. Cyclists are particularly welcome on the quiet country lanes and designated cycle paths.
There are so many wonderful places to visit in this historic county from ancient druid monuments to magnificent stately homes, fabulous gardens and glorious Georgian towns. All are within easy reach of our holiday cottages in Wiltshire. Stonehenge is one of the world’s great wonders, truly deserving its must-see status but the stone circle at Avebury is just as mysterious. There is also Longleat, famous for its Safari Park and grand Elizabethan house and a great family favourite. Garden-lovers should not miss Stourhead, one of the finest examples of 18th century landscape design, dotted with classical temples. And then there’s the magnificent cathedral at Salisbury, set in a wonderfully preserved medieval close. You’ll also want to explore Wiltshire’s many pretty towns and villages – places like Cosham, with its Georgian houses in Cotswold stone, Bradford-on-Avon, Marlborough, famous for its school, and perfectly preserved Lacock with its famous abbey.
